What seemed like a normal day with a normal breakfast has become a somewhat frustrating experience for those who wait every day to have their donut from this iconic chain. What is happening with our favourite donut brand and why are there no more donuts?
What is Dunkin’ Donuts?
It is one of the most beloved pastry chains in the United States, founded in 1950 in Massachusetts, it has become one of the largest pastry chains in the world with more than 11,000 locations in 36 countries! And they are probably the most delicious donuts you will ever eat.
What happened to the donuts?
Apparently they are facing a problem that nobody expected: a shortage of donuts!! How? We wonder the same thing, in places like Nebraska and New Mexico, customers have found that the shelves were empty and there was not a single donut, so, these customers have left the stores with empty stomachs.
The company, apparently, has not yet issued any official statement to clarify the situation.
A manufacturing error as the main suspect
According to the owner of the franchise in Omaha (Nebraska) the problems began when the supplier delivered products that did not meet the quality standards required… So, this caused the withdrawal of the affected batches leaving the stores empty of products, but nobody has tried to explain more about the subject. On the part of the employees, they mentioned that the corporate headquarters has asked to keep silent on the subject, which has generated even more speculation among the press and consumers, what has happened?
How is Dunkin’ handling this crisis?
So far, the bakery company’s strategy has been to remain silent while they resolve the problem. Some employees hope that regular shipments will resume soon (although there is still no clear date confirmed).
But the truth is that this lack of communication on the part of the company could damage the perception that customers have of the brand, because in times of crisis, the most fundamental thing is to maintain consumer confidence with quick and transparent responses.
