Honda is celebrating 50 years of the Honda Gold Wing, and it wants to honor its half century of history by doing what it loves most: a special 50th anniversary edition, pure tribute, finer, lighter… This model has always been the travel motorcycle, and now it arrives with all its power, new technology and all the comfort the brand could put on two wheels so it remains Honda’s top model for another 50 years.
A legendary engine
If the Gold Wing has a soul, it is in its engine, that much is clear. It is the 1,833 cc six cylinder, and it sounds as if they were tuned strings instead of metal, a unique experience that they have refined even more this year. It vibrates less, responds better, but maintains that smoothness on the road.
Power that flows
No scares or jerks, it is a calm motorcycle, very stable, the kind that accompanies you everywhere without making more noise than necessary, even when you want to ask it for speed, one of those made to enjoy the road. Wonderful.
Manual or DCT?
Honda continues offering both options, so you can choose the one you prefer. If you feel more comfortable with the classic manual mode, it is there for you, but if you prefer the automatic DCT, we do not judge you, we would also love to forget about the clutch forever.
Reverse gear comes standard, because moving such a beast without it would be an extreme sport, so they left it as is.
Less weight
They removed a few kilos from the vehicle and it shows quite a lot, especially in curves (because it enters better), and in some maneuvers it also responds much faster, you will not feel like you are losing control.
Designed for traveling
Do not think they added technology just because it is trendy, they want everything to match the current technological moment, so you will also be able to use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto… but finally wireless. No cables, your music, your maps and your calls, zero complications, and with a much simpler interface.
And the wind?
Forget it, the front screen adjusts itself depending on the moment, and it also remembers how you like to set it, so when you have been on the road for hours, you appreciate it, don’t you think?
And the riding modes?
You will be able to choose them too: more sporty, smoother or more efficient.
Double wishbone suspension
This double wishbone system is already part of the Gold Wing’s DNA: less vibration, more stability and the feeling of floating even when the road gets temperamental.
And the comfort?
The Gold Wing has always been famous for being especially comfortable, but the 2025 version goes a step further. New seats, better support, natural posture… it seems like they are paying us to advertise it, but it really is incredibly comfortable.
