The air fryer is almost another member of the family, and it has made its way into our kitchens in an incredible way. It is fast, it is convenient (more or less), it is healthy, but let’s be honest, what a nightmare it is to clean the basket where we cook, and yes, you have to clean it. I am sure you have tried everything, even air fryer paper to save yourself some cleaning and cook on top of it.
Putting it in is not easy, it seems to have a life of its own. You place it properly, close the basket, and two minutes later it is already folded, flying around, or stuck where it should not be. We will not say who has had one catch fire once or twice. So how do we keep the paper from moving when we cook in the air fryer? Well, someone very resourceful has created a silicone accessory with magnets that holds the paper in place during the entire cooking process. How did no one think of this before?
Baking paper with a mind of its own
The air fryer works with jets of hot air, and if the paper is lighter or the food does not weigh enough, it moves. Sometimes it covers parts of the food, sometimes it gets stepped on, and sometimes it ruins our cooking. That is why many people end up giving up and cooking without paper, but the basket gets greasy and you have to scrape off burnt bits, and you end up spending much more time scrubbing!
So what is the solution?
Magnets! Not just any magnets, of course, we are not that crazy. These are magnets coated in silicone that are designed specifically to be used inside the air fryer, so they hold the paper to the basket even when it is running at maximum power.
It is silicone prepared to withstand high temperatures, it does not melt, it does not transfer odors, and it does not release toxic substances. It adapts perfectly to round or square baskets, or whatever shape they are, because it is silicone and it is a soft material.
How much does it cost?
Less than 10$, and they come with at least four per pack, enough for your air fryer! You can find it here.
How are they used?
Place the paper on the base of the basket as you always do, now put the magnets on the edges or corners, and that is it. The paper stays firm, without moving, and the hot air continues to circulate without any problem!
During cooking, the paper stays in place. It does not fold, it does not fly, and it does not dangerously approach the heating elements (hehe). When finish, remove the magnets, rinse them under the tap, and store them again.
Cheap and very practical!
Another point in its favor is that it costs almost nothing. For a few dollars you get an accessory you can use daily and that saves you time, mess, and the occasional frustration.
It does not require installation, it does not break easily, and it works with almost any air fryer model. That is why it is slowly making its way into many kitchens as one of those “essentials” you did not know you needed.
And what about safety?
As we mentioned before, the magnets are coated with heat resistant, food grade silicone, so they are prepared for high temperatures and do not release toxins or deform.
