Maybe, when we talk about electric cars or the electric era, we never stop to think that high-end (or super luxurious) vehicles might look at this market. But now the rules of the game are changing, all companies are increasingly paying attention to what is happening in the market because they believe that traditional combustion cars have their days numbered.

Why are we telling you this? Because now Lamborghini, that Italian brand that for decades has roared on the roads with the glorious thunder of its V12 engines, is getting ready to enter the electric world like the queen of the ball.

But no, Lamborghini doesn’t do things halfway, Lamborghini has planned its first electric EV supercar for 2030 and aims to reach up to 2,000 horsepower. A technology that wants to completely redefine everything we know about electric sports cars.

We’ll tell you everything we know so far about this revolution that seeks to reinvent the very identity of one of the kings of the automotive industry.

The shift to electric

Ferrari had also been considering launching its first electric vehicle this year, but Lamborghini is taking a slightly more meticulous approach that focuses more on high performance. Are we witnessing a true revolution or just a whim of the brand?

Soul of Lamborghini but shared platforms

It’s nothing new that in the automotive sector there are collaborations from time to time to reduce costs. This one in particular is a collaboration with Porsche and will also serve as a base for models from other brands like Audi and Bentley. But, according to Oliver Blume, CEO of the Volkswagen Group, the Italian model will have a unique configuration, adapted to the extreme character expected from the brand, because Lamborghini is not just any brand, and it’s expected to preserve the power, style, and above all, the sound of the exhaust.

At the forefront

The platform on which this EV supercar will be built will support up to 980 volts, a considerable improvement compared to the 800 already used by many high-performance cars. This means ultra-fast charging, better energy efficiency, and of course, massive performance.

The goal is clear: to create an electric car that not only matches but exceeds the emotions offered by its gasoline predecessors. Will many users be ready for that?

Its muse, who was it?

The concept on which this supercar is based is the Lanzador, a prototype presented in 2023 that already made clear where things were heading. With a raised two-door body and a 100% electric system that produced no less than 1,341 horsepower, the Lanzador marked the beginning of this new era.

It is believed that the model currently in production could even surpass that figure, reaching no less than 2,000 horsepower, placing it in the same league as titans like the Rimac Nevera or the Pininfarina Battista.

A Lambo, crossover and electric?

What most surprises and intrigues fans is the shape this new Lamborghini version will take, which is believed to adopt a coupe-style crossover silhouette. But of course, this decision is not random, sporty SUVs like the Urus have proven to sell like hotcakes on the market and could be the ones to dominate the electric future.

We already know that for purists this would be sacrilege, but Lamborghini has assured and promised that this car will maintain the brand’s DNA.

Is the world ready for an electric Lamborghini?

Everything points to yes, and if other brands are also launching their electric vehicles, why not Lamborghini? Besides, we already know they never leave anything to chance and are preparing a truly exclusive show,as they’ve always done. We’re not talking about an attempt to enter the electric market,we’re talking about a declaration of war against the electric competition. How many brands can boast history, legacy, and elegance like Lamborghini? 2030… don’t take too long to get here
