Goodbye Toyota - more than 147,000 units of this model have been withdrawn from the market due to brake failure

Goodbye to the limits of creativity – the 10 most hated cars in the world – BMW, Nissan, Pontiac, and Tesla among them

Neither Honda nor Mazda – Toyota dominates in 2025 and consolidates its position as the world’s best-selling brand for this reason

No more blindly taking your car to the repair shop every time the warning light comes on—learning to read the Check Engine light changes the way you take care of your car in the United States

Absolutely no one likes to get a call from the repair shop saying their car has a serious issue and their safety is at risk, but even the most well-known and reliable brands can make a mistake at some point. What matters is not the failure itself but how they react to it. Now, the United States is facing a recall of 147,000 vehicle units called for urgent inspection due to problems that could endanger user safety. Toyota (yes), General Motors, Volvo, and Hyundai are at the centre of this new warning, but fortunately, you can still act before this error becomes a major problem.

Toyota recall

The problem with Toyota’s recalls is based on two key components that are failing: the brake hose (affecting 106,061 units) and dirt that accumulates in the brake hose, which could cause a brake fluid leak (this problem affects 40,922 car units). Other vehicles could also have problems with the centre seat belt in the second row.

Toyota vehicles included in the recall:

All vehicles are 2024 and 2025 models, but here’s a list:

  1. 2025 Camry Hybrid
  2. Lexus NX250 in hybrid versions
  3. Lexus RX350 and RX500 hybrid versions

When will they start contacting customers?

For now, the safety notice should be sent to Toyota customers starting March 24. After receiving the notification, users will have to take their car to the dealership to fix the problem, and no, they will not have to pay anything at all since the replacement is free of charge.

Each recall has the following identification numbers: 25TB04, 25TA04, 25TA03, and 25LA03.

General Motors, Volvo, and Hyundai

General Motors has issued a warning about 70,000 units of the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500, where the chrome front deflectors may detach while driving. Although it may seem like a small issue, it can pose a risk on the road if objects fly off at high speed.

Meanwhile, Volvo has identified a fault in the lighting system software in 2,000 units of the 2025 EX90, which prevents the proper functioning of both the high and low beams. A major risk for users driving at night. Volvo will fix this error with a free remote update or, if the customer prefers, at the dealership.

Hyundai is not left out of this recall. The 2025 IONIQ 5 N sports model, known for allowing braking with the left foot, has a software issue that reduces braking response. Until the free update is applied, it is recommended not to use that driving feature until the problem is resolved.

What to do if your vehicle is part of this recall?

The first thing is to stay calm. You will receive a notice to make the necessary changes, and you’ll have to schedule an appointment at your dealership or call the customer service numbers provided by each brand. You can check whether your vehicle is included in this recall on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website, and if you don’t receive a notification, you can request an inspection appointment yourself.

Why are recalls important?

It’s not about protecting the car, which, after all, is something material that can be replaced, it’s about protecting lives and preventing accidents. Also, with this type of error, it becomes clear whether the brand is truly committed to its customers or if its main motivation is just to sell vehicles. The manufacturer’s response in these cases is crucial to avoid tragedies and to not lose users’ trust.
