What are solar panels?
This is a green technology used to capture the sunlight and transform it into electricity. They need to be placed in places where they have many sunshine hours and they make use of a natural resource, which is free and unlimited.
This sounds great, doesn’t it? Well, let me tell you this wasn’t as fantastic in the past as you may think.
Dark past of solar panels
Solar panels’ reputation hasn’t always been as positive as today. At the beginning of the 21st century, they were seen as expensive and not efficient at all since they couldn’t be continuously used. Why? Because they needed the sunlight to produce electricity.
However, around 2010, there was an investment on solar panels and they were improved with high technology, making their solar tracking systems way better. This way people could make the most of them since there was a concern about the worrying situation of the environment. Oh! Of course, they became cheaper, so that affordability wasn’t an impediment.

It is true that houses and some companies are using solar panels, but California is going further and is making the biggest solar panel project to this day. Guess how many solar panels are used… 750,000!

Is this a good future for the environment?
For sure! This is a good example of how producing energy and caring for the environment can happen at the same time. The California state is setting a precedent in how governments and companies should act when it comes to climate change issues.
It is true that other places like China, India, Europe and Australia are also investing in solar energy, but it is necessary the development of more green technology and environmentally friendly ways of producing electricity.

Of course, most responsibility lies on governments and big companies, but we, average people, can also help our planet Earth. How? Doing simple things like turning off your devices when you don’t need them or supporting clean energy policies. Do you think I wasn’t going to mention solar panels?
