If you depend on Social Security (SSA) payments each month, we’re sorry to say it, but here comes bad news: July is already out of dates. So if the money hasn’t arrived yet, you’ll have to wait until next month, and above all, check if you’ve done something wrong.

SSA’s payment calendar

Yes, the SSA operates under a fairly strict schedule that usually doesn’t change. It already has everything set up in case your payment date falls on a holiday or weekend. It’s something you should know if you receive money from the Administration, mainly because it’s much easier to stay organized that way, right?

Well, everything planned for July has already been sent out. Nothing unusual, but if you were waiting for something more… it’s not going to happen.

Who already got paid this month?

Pretty much everyone whose payment is scheduled based on their birth date or the type of benefit. That means:

  • Retirees who receive their check based on the day they were born.
  • People receiving disability payments (SSDI).
  • Those who get SSI (Supplemental Security Income), especially if they also receive retirement.
  • Those receiving food checks like SNAP or similar.

No one’s left, because July is completely over!

How are payments scheduled each month?

The SSA distributes money following this pattern:

Retirees and SSDI beneficiaries

  • Second Wednesday of the month: if you were born between the 1st and 10th.
  • Third Wednesday: if your birthday falls between the 11th and 20th.
  • Fourth Wednesday: for those born between the 21st and 31st.

The good thing is it’s super easy to remember.

SSI beneficiaries

These recipients get paid on the 1st of each month, but if they also receive retirement, the money comes on the 3rd of the month. Heads up: if they started receiving retirement before May 1997, they also get paid on the 3rd!

SNAP

It’s paid on different dates depending on the state, so you’ll need to check the SNAP calendar for your own state.

Why this date system?

This way, the administration ensures that the money reaches everyone and doesn’t suffer any delays. Remember, most of these people rely on what they get each month to survive, any kind of payment delay can cause serious financial instability for many families… better not even think about it!

Next dates: when are deposits coming back?

Relaaax, if the last payment in July was on Wednesday the 24th, the next step is just to wait until August! So the next checks to go out will be:

  • Thursday, August 1: for those receiving only SSI.
  • Saturday, August 3: for those getting both retirement + SSI, or for those who started receiving payments before May 1997.

The rest of the payments for the month will be:

  • Wednesday, August 14: for those born between the 1st and 10th.
  • Wednesday, August 21: for those born between the 11th and 20th.
  • Wednesday, August 28: for those born between the 21st and 31st.

And how much will you get?

Even though the amount can vary a lot, in 2025 the monthly maximum is $5,108. But only a small group qualifies for that. The vast majority of beneficiaries usually receive around $2,000 a month, which isn’t bad either!

To reach the maximum, you need to meet several conditions:

  • Have worked and paid into the system for at least 35 years.
  • Have 40 work credits.
  • Have paid Social Security taxes your entire working life.
  • And most importantly, wait until age 70 to start collecting.

If you want to check your exact payment dates or see how much you’ll get, the best thing is to go directly to SSA.gov or call the office. Don’t trust third parties and double-check your info to avoid delays, so your money arrives soon!
