Do you know what the Roadster is? If you are into Elon Musk’s electric cars company, I’m sure you’ve heard about it. In case you don’t, let me tell you the Roadster is kind of like a rocket because of its speed. This vehicle has been described as THE car, but the problem is that Tesla has been talking about the Roadster for more than 10 years and guess what… nobody knows where that promising car is. So, let’s find out more about this Tesla car.

Why is it so special?

Coming from Tesla, people expect this car to be something nobody has ever seen, and it’s in fact very different from the other cars. According to the company, it could go through 1,000 km with just one charge and go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1,9 seconds. Now we understand why it is compared to a rocket, right?

What if I told you the Roadster is electric, and with an elegant and quiet design? It seems like we are talking about a hypercar.

But, it’s not available yet…

In 2007, Tesla released the Roadster prototype letting people know the manufacturing would begin in 2020. What year are we now? 2025? And there’s still no Roadster anywhere.

Nothing has been said about the promising car yet. Every time Tesla has to do an interview or event, it almost doesn’t mention it which makes people wonder if the Roadster is still a thing or it is out of the equation for the company.

What happened to the promised free Roadsters?

Remember that referral program Tesla ran a few years ago? If you convinced friends or family to buy a Tesla, you could get rewards and some people even earned a free Roadster. Sounds amazing, right?

Well… there’s just one problem: this car still doesn’t exist. So, those lucky winners? They’ve been waiting for years. Some are still hopeful, others are frustrated, and many have taken to social media to ask the same question: Where’s my car?

Will it really have Rocket thrusters?

One of the most eye-catching ideas from Elon Musk was that the Roadster could include a “SpaceX package,” adding rocket-style thrusters hidden behind the license plate. These would help the car accelerate, turn, and brake with even more power.

Because of this rocket technology, the Roadster has been compared to an aircraft, both in design and performance. Still, this idea hasn’t been shown working yet. If it ever becomes real, it would be one of the most unique features in any production vehicle ever made.

What could you expect next?

As of now, there’s no official launch date for the Roadster, but Tesla fans continue to follow the news with the hope of finding an official date. However,  no clear timeline has been given.

Other Tesla vehicles, like the Cybertruck, have also experienced delays or changes. This is a negative aspect for the company since it has led to more questions about Tesla’s ability to meet its ambitious goals.

What can we learn from this?

The Roadster shows how big ideas can take a long time to develop. Even well-known companies sometimes take longer than expected to deliver new products, so imagine how long it takes for small ones…

For now, the Roadster remains a major promise, but it has not yet arrived. Elon Musk called it “the cherry on the icing on the cake.” The cake, however, is still being baked.

If this project is available, would you want to ride in a car that moves as fast as a rocket? What do you think will happen with the Roadster?
