It's official—this is the identity of the new owner of the mansion that surpasses the Taj Mahal in size

It’s official—the U.S. State Department will reject tourist visas linked to the birth of U.S. citizen babies

The largest mansion in Los Angeles changes owner. And now it passes into the hands of former Google CEO Eric Schmidt. This man has just become the new owner of Spelling Manor, one of the most iconic and expensive residences in Los Angeles. With more than 100 rooms and 5,100 square meters (do you know how long it will take this man to clean the floor? Surely he will not do it, but poor cleaning staff…). But wait, because this property surpasses in size both the White House and the central mausoleum of the Taj Mahal, becoming a symbol of real estate luxury in California!!!

Schmidt and his wife have paid 110 million dollars (we cannot identify how many zeros that is) for the purchase, according to The Wall Street Journal. And wait, because if this news was already bothering you, you should know that this man does not intend to live there, but wants to use it for cultural events and nonprofit meetings (sure, after spending 110 million), bringing together institutions and influential personalities of Los Angeles.

A French castle in the heart of Beverly Hills

This mansion looks like a European palace, it was built in 1988 by television producer Aaron Spelling, creator of such popular series as Charlie’s Angels (we love that series!!). Since then, Spelling Manor has become a symbol of opulence in the city of stars.

Among its facilities are a wine cellar, a beauty salon, massage rooms, a private cinema for 20 people, a bowling alley, 27 bathrooms (in case one does not work, of course!!!), a pool and even a room dedicated exclusively to doll collections. All designed to fulfill the ideal of a life of unlimited luxury.

Eric Schmidt’s plans for Spelling Manor

Far from keeping the property as it is, Schmidt is already preparing a deep remodel. As we said before and according to sources close to the couple, they plan to simplify the layout of the spaces and improve the energy efficiency of the mansion, adapting it to modern times. They have decided to rename it “594,” in reference to its address on Mapleton Drive, a detail that reinforces the super exclusive character of the residence.

This change is not only to modernize the property, they want to transform it into a landmark space for culture and innovation in Los Angeles, aligned with Schmidt’s philanthropic vision after leaving Google.

A record price in the real estate market

The value of 110 million dollars places this purchase among the most striking real estate deals in the United States in 2025!! Even the luxury market in Los Angeles usually moves in high figures like this, the magnitude of Spelling Manor sets it apart.

Experts highlight that, in addition to its size and location, the mansion represents a symbol of economic power linked to technology, with Schmidt as one of the key names in the digital world who now also leaves a mark in the real estate sector.

More than a home, a global luxury icon

What makes this purchase a global event is not only its price, but what it represents (having money and being filthy rich, for example). Eric Schmidt is not just acquiring a huge house, it is a symbol of Los Angeles, a space with history, excessive luxury and, from now on, a new cultural purpose!

The deal shows that the luxury real estate market in California continues to be one of the most powerful on the planet and that, even in times of economic uncertainty, the great tech magnates continue to set the trend. What do you think about it?
