The U.S. safety officials have issued an urgent warning about a product sold on Amazon and other online stores, we are talking about a sleeping product for babies and kids. It’s known as sleep lounger and it has been recalled after inspectors discovered serious safety failures that could end up in injuries and even death.

More than 20,000 units of this Amazon product were sold between January 2024 and April 2025. Parents and caretakers who have bought this sleep lounger, should stop using it immediately and follow a specific process to obtain the entire refund. Recalls are not anything new for us, so let’s find out more about this sleep lounger.

Recall of this Amazon product

The recalled sleep lounger was commercialized as a comfy and safe product that newly born and kids up to 2 years old could use. However, a review by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) uncovered some violations of federal safety rules:

  • Sides too short: The lounger’s edges are lower than the minimum height required, creating a fall or entrapment risk.
  • Overly padded surface: The lounger’s mattress is thicker than safety standards allow, which may raise the risk of suffocation if an infant’s face presses against it.
  • Unstable design: Because the lounger does not come with a secure base or stand, it creates additional safety risks for babies during everyday use.

It’s true that until now no injuries have been reported, but authorities warn about the dangers of this item when it comes to suffocation, physical damages or even death if families continue using it.

What you should do if you own the sleep lounger

If you bought this item from Amazon or any other website, authorities recommend doing the following:

  • Stop using the lounger immediately. Do not place your baby in it again.
  • Destroy the product at home. Remove the inner pad and cut the sides so that it cannot be reused.
  • Take a photo of the destroyed item.
  • Email the photo to the address provided by the company as proof.
  • Request a full refund.

The company in charge of the refund, once customers provide proof of destruction, is Pomona because it was the company that sold the lounger.

Reminder about safety on Amazon products

Authorities highlight that many recalls of Amazon products or supermarkets are issued as a preventive measure. However, each warning must be taken seriously.

In the case of the sleep lounger, the recommendation is to destroy it to make sure no other family has it and no tragedy happens.

Recent examples of other recalls

The recall of this sleep lounger sold on Amazon is part of a long list of products that have been considered dangerous in the last couple of months. So, let’s have a look at some of these products, maybe they will surprise you:

  • Frozen shrimp: Certain batches were pulled from supermarket freezers due to possible contamination with a radioactive isotope.
  • Eggs: Dozens of cartons were recalled across more than a dozen states after 95 people fell ill with Salmonella infections.
  • Bathroom products: Over a dozen items were pulled from shelves after tests revealed contamination with dangerous bacteria.

These examples show that recalls of Amazon products and other groceries stores are frequent and consumers should pay attention and stay informed. Imagine you have a little kid, you wouldn’t like anything bad to happen to him or her, right? That’s why we should always immediately act once we know about any recall or possible harm that could cause any product. So, next time you buy something that it’s supposed to be safe, check it very carefully before using it.
