These days, it seems like buying a house is impossible, but now the company Allwood has made a prefabricated home available to all Amazon users for less than $8,500! It comes as a kit and it could be the solution to all your problems. And maybe you’re thinking it can’t keep out the cold or handle the rain, but that’s not the case. This tiny house is designed for winter getaways or forest retreats, so you won’t have to worry about the cold! Here’s everything we know.
What does this tiny house have?
To start, it has two floors, a covered porch, and everything you need to assemble it with basic tools. It doesn’t include electricity or plumbing, but it does have insulation in the floor, roof, and walls, so with a small heater, you can get through winter without freezing.
Everything you need comes in the package: panels, roof, trim, doors, windows… It’s like putting together IKEA furniture, but the final result is a Scandinavian-style house. Literally. It’s small and cozy, made entirely of wood.
Natural light, functional porch, and lots of charm
It has an entrance with glass doors and huge windows that let in all the daylight. Inside, there are no dark corners or cave-like vibes: the brightness fills the whole space. And the porch is a decent size, it fits a table, chairs, and even a hammock if you feel like having a coffee while watching the snow fall…
What if you live somewhere with harsh winters?
The insulation pack is sold separately and is made with basic thermal materials for the walls, floor, and roof, but they claim it keeps the heat in even on the coldest days. Still, you’ll have to buy it separately from the house.
What about electricity or water?
That’s up to you. Some people connect it to their main home’s utilities. Others use solar panels, water tanks, and portable heaters. You don’t need to do major construction, just have a clear idea of what you’ll use it for. Most users install LED lights, heaters, and even small electric stoves without issues.
What exactly is it for?
That’s the fun part, it’s for whatever you want. Some use it as a guest house, an art studio, a quiet office, or a yoga room. You can also live in it if you’re alone or a couple. It’s meant to be versatile, pretty, and functional. And above all, not take up more space than needed.
How much does it cost?
The basic pack (the house structure) costs $8,450, and then you have to add the insulation pack, whose price isn’t listed on Amazon, where, by the way, this mini house is currently sold out.
This house doesn’t solve everything, but it’s an alternative for people who can’t handle a mortgage right now. It can even be placed in the yard of a main house and rented out, giving extra privacy to whoever lives there. It’s small, cozy, minimalist, and above all, useful for those who will live in it. Are we entering the future of prefabricated homes? Would you live in one of those tiny houses? Let us know in the comments!
