Annabelle has a new owner and it’s not who you’d expect… Have you heard of Annabelle, the most famous cursed doll in horror movies? She appears in The Conjuring and Annabelle, and her story is based on a real-life doll that has been locked away for years due to fears about what she might cause. Well… now she has a new owner, and it’s not a ghost expert! So, let’s find out who this person is.

The new ‘’guardian’’

Now, the person in charge of Annabelle is Matt Rife, an American comedian known for making jokes on social media and performing stand-up. No one expected him to be the one to buy the house where the doll was kept… but that’s exactly what he did.

What exactly did he buy?

Matt Rife didn’t just buy Annabelle. He also purchased the house in Connecticut where the Warrens’ Occult Museum used to operate — the same place where the doll was kept, protected, and displayed in a special glass case for many years.

That museum had been closed since 2019, after Lorraine Warren passed away. Now, with Matt’s arrival, it’s possible that it might reopen, but in a very different way: as a mix of paranormal tourism and live entertainment. Yes, that’s right — horror and shows in the same place.

And isn’t he scared of Annabelle?

It seems not. Matt Rife has even joked a bit about the situation, saying that if anything strange happens, he’ll just turn it into content for his social media.

Some people say he’s brave, others say he’s being reckless… but the truth is, he doesn’t take it as seriously as many paranormal fans. Even though the doll has been linked to many stories of accidents and strange events, Matt seems calm.

Why is Annabelle so famous?

Annabelle is not the typical creepy porcelain doll like the one shown in the movies. In reality, she’s a rag doll, a Raggedy Ann. But in the 1970s, the Warrens claimed she was possessed by a demonic spirit, so they decided to lock her in a blessed glass case inside their museum to keep her contained.

Over time, many stories have emerged: people who mocked the doll and later had accidents, strange events when getting close to her case, and many urban legends that turned her into one of the most feared paranormal objects in the world.

What do people think about all this?

Since the news broke that Matt Rife is Annabelle’s new owner, reactions have been mixed.

Some say he’s brave and original, and that he’s going to give a new life to a place full of history. However, others believe he’s playing with fire, and that he shouldn’t treat such an object so lightly.

Some paranormal experts aren’t exactly thrilled about all this. They’ve warned that changing Annabelle’s surroundings or even touching her could stir up things you don’t want to mess with. To them, she’s way more than just a creepy doll — she’s something you don’t joke around with.

Matt’s plans

No one really knows what Matt’s going to do with the house — or with Annabelle, for that matter. But word is, he’s thinking about turning it into some kind of interactive horror experience. Imagine this: you’re walking through the eerie old Warren house, the lights are low, the air feels heavy… and suddenly, you’re face to face with Annabelle, just sitting there in her glass case. And then — surprise — a live show starts right in the middle of it all. Creepy? Totally. Cool? Maybe.

Whether you’re a believer in the paranormal or just a fan of scary stories, the idea of owning something like Annabelle is enough to make anyone stop and think. Would you be curious enough to visit the house… or smart enough to stay far away?
