We all know that the pyramids of Egypt have sparked thousands of theories around the world and over the years about how they were built, and they are the epicentre of conspiracy theories. For some, they were not made by humans, but by a lost civilization or even beings from other worlds, like aliens. And if there’s one group that appears again and again in these stories, it’s the Illuminati. What if the pyramids weren’t just tombs or astronomical monuments, but real centres of hidden power? Some claim that beneath their stones lie secret codes and cosmic alignments. Elon Musk already caused a storm years ago by suggesting that aliens built the pyramids of Egypt, but… could he be right now?
A theory that changes everything.
Musk’s words were dismissed by experts and even by the Egyptian government itself, which invited him to visit the country and see the real history of the pyramids. But now, everything seems to be changing, as a structure under the pyramids of Giza has been found to be too complex in shape and size, measuring more than two kilometres below the ground.
ScanPyramid has reignited the debate
ScanPyramid is a project created by several experts, and it’s incredible. Using a type of X-ray, it has employed muons, subatomic particles generated when cosmic rays collide with the Earth’s atmosphere, to scan the interior of the pyramid without damaging it in any way. This technique allowed the discovery of structures beneath the pyramids, and of course, theories were quick to follow.
What’s beneath the pyramids?
Researchers from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow) and the University of Pisa found, as mentioned, a series of underground chambers and columns aligned geometrically, very typical of the Egyptians. The eight vertical columns descend more than 600 meters, forming connected passages like a kind of underground city, according to the archaeologists themselves.
Archaeologist Corrado Malanga states that we still don’t know exactly how old these structures are or what their function was, but they are perfectly aligned with the cardinal points, suggesting a symbolic (or astronomical) purpose. Who knows.
Why can’t we excavate beneath the pyramids?
Basically because each pyramid weighs approximately 6 million tons, since each concrete block weighs on average between 2 and 3 tons. So, just thinking about putting 6 million tons at risk is far too dangerous, which is why X-rays have been used to investigate the subsoil of the pyramids.
And yes, both you, the scientists, and we ourselves keep wondering how these pyramids were built more than 4,000 years ago without any technology. And what if it really was the aliens?

That’s right, and as we mentioned at the beginning, Musk once posted on social media: “Obviously, aliens built the pyramids,” but beyond seeking sensationalism, it’s clear how much we still don’t know about the pyramids. Egypt remains the eternal mystery.
And the truth is, 4,500 years later, we still don’t know how they were built, nor what they were for. But we do know they have a specific astronomical alignment, matching the three stars in Orion’s Belt: Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka. And of course, this is no coincidence, since Orion was very important to the Egyptians, being associated with the god Osiris.
With so much information on the table, it seems natural that there are so many conspiracy theories about how the pyramids were built, and it’s hard to believe they achieved such precision without even a calculator!
