Ford, again. Yes, once again they’re in the eye of the storm after announcing that they have to recall yet another model due to fire risk. If we add up the recalls, they’re already… better not count them because this isn’t Ford’s year (or decade). Now, the focus is on the F-250 and F-350 pickup trucks equipped with the Power Stroke 6.7-liter V8 turbodiesel, which apparently have a defect in the fuel lines that could cause engine fires. If you have one of these models, here’s what you should do. Be careful!

What’s happening with Ford

A new day dawns, a new Ford recall, it seems to be the pattern. In this case, it affects the F-250 and F-350 models manufactured in 2025. The problem is due to damage in the fuel line assemblies, an issue that could lead to a fire if not corrected in time…

Don’t worry, Ford has already notified owners and has asked them to bring their vehicles to dealerships for a completely free repair.

Multiple recalls at Ford…

It looks like Ford has taken a liking to recalls… This one adds to others, like the more than 270,000 Bronco and Maverick models made between 2021 and 2023 for problems with the 12-volt battery. In that case, the fault could cause a loss of power leading to accidents…

But that’s not all. The 2019 and 2020 Transit Connect models were recalled for cooling system failures that could lead to engine overheating and, again, fires.

But wait, there’s more! These precedents add pressure on the company, which last year had to pay a $165 million civil penalty to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) last November after it was discovered that they didn’t recall (or notify) vehicles with defective rearview cameras…

That’s why we were saying this isn’t Ford’s decade…

What to do if you have an affected vehicle

First, make sure your vehicle is included in this recall. You can do this through the NHTSA’s website using your car’s Vehicle Identification Number.

Second, if you’re among the affected owners and Ford hasn’t notified you yet, schedule an appointment with your nearest dealership or official service centre, this repair will cost you nothing (Ford is covering all the costs).

Ford has reportedly sent out the notifications, but in case you didn’t receive it, take the initiative yourself.

Why do recalls happen?

They’re a guarantee that road safety is still under close watch, as it should be. Ignoring these recalls can have very serious consequences for you and anyone you meet on the road…

Ensuring road safety

Apart from mechanical checks, don’t forget to have an up-to-date car insurance policy. Although premiums are rising across the country, insurance has your back if you suffer damage or need to repair your car because of a defect like this.

The response of the authorities

Of course, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) doesn’t trust easily and has stepped up its oversight after the incidents with Ford. According to Deputy Administrator Sophie Shulman, manufacturers must be transparent and quick to notify about defects that could endanger drivers’ lives… But this is logical and should also be standard… right? There will be no tolerance for delays or lack of communication when it comes to defects that could cause fires, electrical failures or other serious hazards.

Ford is continuing to work to resolve each of these problems it’s facing and to ensure that its vehicles are safe… But consumer trust is at stake, and only time will tell if the brand can win it back.

If you want to check whether your vehicle is affected, you can consult the NHTSA’s official recall report 25V-306.
