Ford Motor Company is at it again with a very urgent recall affecting more than 300,000 vehicles across the country. The reason? A defect in the engine system that can cause very dangerous accidents… on the road!
Are we facing another Ford crisis? We’ll tell you everything below.
What’s going on with Ford?
A new recall on the horizon due to a possible coolant leak. It may seem like a small thing, but there are problems with the brake assist, which could cause the braking distance to increase and raise the risk of accidents due to poor judgment. Of course, imagine this on a highway where speeds are quite high…
Which models are affected?
The NHTSA report stated that up to 312,120 vehicles are affected by the electric brake booster (EBB), which fails while driving in the following models:
- Lincoln Navigator
- 2025 Ford Bronco
- 2025 Ford Expedition
- 2025 Ford F-150
- 2025 Ford Ranger
Of course, this new recall puts Ford back in the spotlight, one of the most important car manufacturers in the United States, because let’s say this hasn’t exactly been their decade…
What to do as consumers?
The first thing is to wait for the brand to send you the recall letter. If you’re in a hurry to know (as would be logical), the recall number is 25S77. So you can check on the official NHTSA website with your vehicle’s VIN number if it’s affected by the issue we’re talking about.
If you still have doubts about the recall, you can contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332 and they will give you more detailed information about your car’s issue.
Million-dollar losses
As we were saying, Ford is not at its best moment, and this recall coincides with other recalls the brand has open, the latest with more than 300,000 affected by short circuit and fire problems… Is Ford neglecting the safety of its drivers to try to compete in the market?
And as of July 30, 2025, although the brand projected a $2 billion impact on its annual profits, it doesn’t seem like things are going so well when we’re facing this type of news that shows that something is being done wrong at this company.
And of course, you just have to look back a bit to see that in the second quarter of last year they lost $36 million… and only made $1.8 billion. The financial hole is quite large…
And what about sales?
Sales are booming, local brand, very famous… you know, we love it. Ford, in addition, continues betting on its trucks and its new SUV models, and revenue from these has increased to $50.2 billion.
Even though it seemed tariffs were going to hurt them, Ford moved forward and managed to offset the impact with its sales. Now that they have to face so many active recalls, Farley will have to pull out his calculator to see if they can really deal with these recalls.
Ford in the spotlight
As we were saying, Ford has to face several recalls just in this last year 2024–2025. Of course, feeling that our car may be a danger to road safety is a hard blow, but we can be thankful that they are in continuous review to make safety something real and essential for everyone. Even in one of the most popular brands in our country.
A new recall, consumer confidence in Ford blowing up, and the extremely complex system of each vehicle shows that we need more inspections and safer measures to make sure that every vehicle coming off the market is safe for everyone.
