Laurel has many uses, from repelling flies to giving a touch to our food, but there’s another one I don’t think many people know. This plant means a lot in the Feng Shui, an ancient Chinese philosophy whose aim is to harmonize the energy in spaces. According to this tradition, laurels play an important role when it comes to attracting abundance, prosperity and good energy to your home.

Don’t think that buying laurels will attract all these things, there’s a process to follow that will protect you from negative influences. So, we’d better start now.

Feng Shui

This is an ancient Chinese philosophy that focuses on creating harmony between people and their surroundings through the management of spaces. The Feng Shui term comes from ‘’wind’’ (feng) and ‘’water’’ (shui), both are symbols of flow and balance in Chinese culture.

Laurel

This is an aromatic plant mostly used to give a specific flavor and scent to our foods, but in many cultures this plant also has energetic properties that could positively influence our home. One of these cultures is Feng Shui which considers laurel as a powerful symbol of wisdom, victory, protection and prosperity.

To make this plant work, you need to put it in specific places at home to stimulate the chi (or vital energy), and create a balanced atmosphere and open to new good opportunities. So, let’s see where we should place laurels in our homes, shall we?

Main entrance

This is one of the key spots in your home. It’s recommended to put laurel plants here because this part is considered to be where the energy enters into your house. Don’t think you put the leaves of laurel on the floor and that’s it, there’s a process for every spot.

One option is to take a container or a plate with 2 or 3 dry laurel leaves and place it near the door, this way you could have an energy filter to block any negative influences and let just positive vibes in.

The other possibility is to keep the leaves inside a small red sackcloth and hang it on the handle of the door. The red color is important because this means protection and vitality in the Feng Shui, so if you combine it with laurel, it will make the harmonizing effect more powerful.

Southeast

Feng Shui has a tool to analyze the energy in every space called the Bagua map. In this map, the southeast part of houses are linked to abundance and financial prosperity. So, it’s recommended to put laurel here in a bowl with a small laurel branch along with coins, natural stones or a folded bill. These elements are optional, the important thing is the branches.

Other Feng Shui tips

Apart from placing laurel on the already mentioned parts of your house to give your positive vibes, there are other uses and places you might want to put this plant:

  • In your wallet or money box: this place will help you activate the prosperity energy, reinforcing the intention of attracting income and preserving financial stability.
  • In the kitchen: this part of the house is closely linked to abundance and nutrition. That’s why you should leave a clean container with laurel leaves on the table to strengthen positive energy in the kitchen.
  • As natural cleansing: burning these some dry laurel leaves and spreading the smoke around different rooms will clean the negative energy. This ritual is used to attract vibes of success, renovation and luck.
  • In the work space or desk: putting some laurel leaves near these places can help stimulate mental clarity, concentration and opening up new employment opportunities.

As you can see, there are so many rituals you can do with this plant that could make your home full of positive energy and good vibes. Will you have a go at this Feng Shui culture?
