You can still receive money from different settlements with big companies like Panera Bread, AT&T, Cash App, Fashion Nova, and EyeMed Vision Care; among some of them. These settlements total more than $200 million and allow affected customers by data breach, privacy issues or websites failures receive payments without having to go to court.
Each company is solving a class action lawsuit, which means that several people were affected by the same issue and they decided to join forces to ask for compensation. The amounts of money vary depending on the case, but some people can obtain up to $10,150 if they meet the requirements and apply before the deadline. So, let’s talk a bit more about what each settlement offers and how this works.
Cash App
This is an app to send and receive money and it agreed on paying $12.5 million to solve a lawsuit for violating privacy laws in the state of Washington. The plaintiffs stated that the company sent automatic text messages to users without their permission, encouraging them to join the app.
So, if you received these types of messages from Cash App between November 14 of 2019 and August 7 of 2025, you could be eligible to receive money. Have in mind you have to apply before October 27 of this year.
AT&T
This is a multinational telecommunications company and it will pay $177 million due to 2 data breaches that happened in 2024, which affected 73 million customers. The leaked information included Social Security numbers, call registers, and accounts data of current and old users. Affected people by both data breaches can receive up to $7,500:
- $5,000 for the March leak.
- $2,500 for the July leak.
For this, you should apply before November 18 of 2025, so you’d better save the date!
Fashion Nova
This clothes shop settled to pay $5.15 million after a group of blind and visually impaired users sued the company. Why? Because the Fashion Nova website was not compatible with screen-reading software, preventing them from browsing or shopping online. So, they settled to pay the affected users and improve accessibility of the website.
You should have applied for this before October 20 of 2025.
Panera Bread
The case of Panera Bread was very popular because it affects many clients. The popular bakery and café chain Panera Bread settled to pay $2.5 million to solve the lawsuit related to a databreach on March 23 of 2024. What happened was that clients’ data was exposed due to safety failures of the company, therefore, Panera Bread had to compensate customers who received an official notification from the company warning them about the problem.
Only those who were directly contacted from Panera Bread can file a claim before November 11 of 2025.
EyeMed Vision Care
This company was also sued because of a databreach that happened in June of 2020 and affected clients in the entire country. As a result, EyeMed agreed on paying $5 million to the affected ones as compensation. People who received a notification from the company can apply and recover:
- Up to $10,000 verified out-of-pocket expenses.
- $100 for time spent dealing with the issue.
- About $50 as a residual payment.
Some customers could even receive as much as $10,150 total if they meet all the requirements!
How these settlements work
A settlement is a legal agreement between a company and the plaintiffs. Instead of going through a long court trial, the company accepts paying money to those who were prejudiced, even though they don’t admit having committed a crime or an intentional mistake.
So, if you have ever been affected by one of these companies, you should do the following to receive the payment from these settlements:
- Confirm that you meet the specific requirements.
- Submit a claim form which is usually available online.
- File before the deadline because each case has its own cut-off date.
So, if you think you can be eligible for the payment, pay attention to the dates and don’t forget about them. Remember that all these settlement applications must be completed before the end of 2025!
