Finding a snake is so scary, even more so if you find it somewhere it’s not supposed to be. You can guess who is the protagonist of this article, right? Imagine you are in your car and suddenly you see something inside the air conditioning vents of the car…. A snake! At this moment you might not know what to do and the vehicle’s safety is something to consider.

This situation went viral and had some people adding a touch of humor, even the car’s brand dealer answered to the situation with a funny response as part of a customer service strategy. So, let’s see how this reptile story ended!

A snake and a Mazda car

Simon Sarris is a citizen of New Hampshire who posted on X some pictures about what he experienced. One day, Simon realised a garter snake was hidden inside his Mazda car’s air conditioning vents and it was impossible to get it out. What he didn’t expect was how viral his post on X was going to be…

Garter snake

The garter snake of this story is commonly found in North America. They are called garter snakes because their stripes look like old-fashioned garters, which were bands used to hold up socks.

This type of reptile is small and non-venomous, which tends to live in gardens, forests, near water and urban areas. So, now it’s a bit more logical how this animal got into Simon’s car.

Going viral on X

Nowadays there are more chances to go viral on social media and that’s what Simon experienced, his post reached more than 17 million views. This was a trending topic which many people commented on with a touch of humor or Simon even got some advice to deal with the snake.

Mazda wanted to take part in the conversation too

Simon tried many things to get the reptile out of the car, he even used Enya’s music for 20 minutes with the hope of making the snake calmer or moving. He just wanted to make it feel something, so that he could catch it, but it was for nothing.

Mazda company was aware of the situation and saw a great opportunity to post on X about on the Mazda USA account. Imean, which company wouldn’t try to take the most of a situation in which one of their products is a protagonist? Of course the company’s customer service posted something about it, at least it was in a funny way: ‘’Try Beyonce, he looks like a diva’’. This response led people to post more jokes about the situation, some of them said if the snake was a new feature of Mazda cars now.

Solution to get the snake out

People were joking about this situation, but Simon had a problem to deal with. He couldn’t do anything about the reptile until he thought about the most simple idea: turning on the air conditioning and leaving the car’s doors open. Why? Because snakes are cold-blooded so the cold air would make it find somewhere warmer. Around 20 minutes later, the snake was out on its own without having to catch it or damage it.

Even though the snake was a non-venomous one, it’s scary if you find one of these somewhere you don’t expect them to be. So, now that we know what happened to Simon and his car, I think you should check your car once in a while in case a strange visitor is there. At least, the story had a happy ending, the snake and Simon were okay. What would you have done in Simon’s situation?
