The July payment already has an official date, and many beneficiaries are waiting for their deposit to arrive, especially after the issues that happened last month. And actually, it wasn’t a problem, it was a misunderstanding. The payment for June was already scheduled in the federal SSA (Social Security Administration) calendar, and now that July is just around the corner, the SSA has confirmed that the next deposit will arrive right on time on July 1, as usual, and will be up to $967 per person in some states if you qualify for this payment.
These kinds of payments, which are part of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI), are vital for millions of citizens with limited income. If you are one of the beneficiaries, it’s important to check the key dates and understand why you didn’t see a June payment, and also confirm if you can qualify for a higher amount thanks to state supplements.
Why wasn’t there a check in June?
We’ve told you many times, at first glance it looks like there was no June payment, but in reality it was an automatic advance like the SSA always does when the payment day falls on a national holiday or weekend. In June’s case, the first day of the month was a Sunday, so your check arrived on May 30 (Friday), to avoid delays and possible issues for beneficiaries. That was the June payment, it’s not that the SSA swallowed your money, it’s that it arrived earlier!
And that’s nothing new, by the way, because every year the official SSA calendar is available with those changes so you can plan and adjust your month according to these modifications.
How much will you receive in July
Ok, July is here and so is its payment. Like every month, the base payment for individual beneficiaries is $943, while qualifying couples can receive up to $1,415. However, some states offer an additional supplement, raising the individual amount up to $967 per person.
That said, this extra is not for everyone, it will depend on your place of residence, what your income is, and whether you have medical or disability conditions that increase the amount. Check your personal situation to know if you’ll receive a little more money.
When is the money coming?
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has already confirmed that the new SSI payment will be processed on Monday, July 1, as always happens with SSI which arrives on the first of each month. If you have direct deposit, the money will most likely be available in your bank account or Direct Express card from the early hours of the day.
On the other hand, if you receive paper checks, they may take a few more days to arrive by mail. In any case, the payment is already considered part of the regular cycle, with no early or delayed deliveries.
How do I know if my check is coming
In general, if there have been no changes in your financial, family or personal situation, it will arrive like always. But if you still have doubts about your next payment or think there was an error with previous deposits, you can:
- Pay attention and log in to your account at ssa.gov/myaccount
- Call 1-800-772-1213 directly with your Social Security number on hand
Also, it’s a good idea to check if your state offers a supplement, as that could make a noticeable difference in your next deposit.
The SSI check for July already has a set date, amount, and clear conditions. But keep an eye on the coming months, which might also bring some changes
