To know what is going on, we first need to understand what a class action settlement is and how it works. Class-action settlements often happen because of misleading advertising, pollution, or discrimination. And this is how they work:

Why Zoa Energy is paying money
Zoa Energy, the energy drinks company, was accused of false advertising. Why? They claimed their drinks had ‘’0 preservatives’’, but some people pointed out that the drinks had citric acid and ascorbic acid. Basically, citric acid gives the sour taste of citrus fruits, and ascorbic acid can support immune health as a dietary supplement.

Who can claim the Zoa Energy money?
I’m sure that if you have ever bought one of Zoa Energy’s drinks, and you have just heard about this news, you want to know how you can claim that money, right? Well, let me tell you that there are some requirements you must meet first:
- You must have lived in the U.S. when buying the drink.
- You must have purchased a Zoa Energy drink labeled ‘’0 preservatives’’.
- You must have purchased it between March 1, 2021, and November 21, 2025.
- You must have purchased it for personal use, not to resell it.
How much money?
Once you know you follow all the requirements we have just mentioned, you know you will receive the money, but how much? The amount of money depends on whether you have proof of purchase.
With proof of purchase you can receive $1 per drink purchased, and $50 maximum per household. Have in mind that it’s only one claim per household. For this, you need to provide: receipts, patent records, and any document showing what you bought and when.
On the other hand, if you don’t have any proof of purchase, you can receive $1 per drink, but $10 maximum per household. Again, it’s one claim per household.
How to submit your claim
Now that you know if you are eligible or not, and how much money you can receive; it’s time to submit your claim. There are two ways to do it:

Deadlines

- Payments issued: About 60 days after court approval.
